I was at Staples when Brianne called me and told me she was just in an accident. She was starting to cry a little bit on the phone, and later I found out she was crying not because she was hurt or scared; she was crying because her car got hit. I just cared that she was alright.
She was sitting at a stoplight behind another lady when the light turned green. As both cars proceeded forward, and ambulance came roaring through the intersection. The intersection that it happened at is a horrible intersection. It is a frontage road that intersects with a underpass (Telshor and Spruce going under I-25). It is extremely busy, and an ambulance can easily pop out of the underpass real quick.
Well in this case the ambulance did not really have its siren on, it only gave a little a half a second siren noise as it rushed through the intersection. The first car in front of my wife put their brakes on and so did my wife. Unfortunately the Chevy truck approaching the red light that had turned green did not realize that they were braking and an ambulance was coming through. The Chevy truck crashed into the back of my wife car pushing her car into the SUV Hyundai in front of her.
The driver of the Chevy was cited by the police and his insurance will pay for everything; my poor wife already had neck problems, and she has some slight whiplash, but nothing permanent. Her neck actually had gotten much better from last year, and it is still in better condition even with the whiplash than it was last year. We are thankful for that and thankful to the Lord that nothing worse happened.
